SCVNGR Moves to Philadelphia

The time has finally come. The nightmares of problem sets are fading fast, finals are over, Princeton’s been abandoned and the SCVNGR Team has relocated to Philadelphia for the summer to participate in the first Dream It Ventures program. Through Dream It Ventures, we’ve secured an office in the Science Center at 3701 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA.

Tuesday May 27 is the official kick off breakfast at the Science Center where Richard Miller will be speaking. Dream It Ventures has lined up an all-star list of speakers for the summer from all different fields to give the Dream It entrepreneurs ample opportunity to learn, ask questions, and basically help us all succeed.

SCVNGR has added two new team members. Michael J. Hagan is a Drexel graduate who previously founded a start up called Niche Media Inc, a student focused marketing firm. Michael will be working with SCVNGR to expand our market reach, develop strategic relations and help us formulate our strategy as we move forward in these exciting early months. Dan Fielder, a freshman at Harvey Mudd is joining our development team and will be working with us to develop the technology that makes SCVNGR tick.

SCVNGR has three exciting achievements to share.

  • ·SCVNGR’s technology will be providing the backbone to run the 1300 person Princeton Freshman Orientation SCVNGR Hunt! Amazingly, SCVNGR’s Hunt Builder, in comparison to last year’s Princeton’s Scavenger Hunt is expected to save the Princeton Orientation Committee several thousand dollars and over 60 man hours! Not to mention providing a cooler experience for the freshman. No more handing out or collecting sheets of paper, no more manually grading thousands of clues, forget developing and trying to distribute thousands pictures from disposable cameras. The solutions to all of these problems and more are easy to use and built right into our SCVNGR Hunt Builder.
  • · SCVNGR has finalized a licensing agreement with Scaventures, the second largest corporate teambuilding company in the country. This will enable SCVNGR to leverage the hunt builder and the cellular scavenger hunt concept to corporations looking for unique team-building events from all over the country. SCVNGR’s platform will combine with Scaventure’s expertise in customizing conventional scavenger hunts to provide a full service cellular SCVNGR Hunt experience.
  • · And finally, SCVNGR has made it to the final round of the Princeton Entrepreneur’s Network Business Plan Competition. Five teams, culled from a three-stage qualifying competition, will be coming from all over the country to compete in the Princeton Friend Center for Engineering this Friday. This is going to be an exciting, and very tough, competition, so definitely wish us luck.
