About 20 weeks ago we launched our apps for iPhone and Android and announced our entrance into the already crowded location-based mobile space.

We made some bold claims. We said that SCVNGR would be the most fun, most social, most rewarding way for you to share where you and what you’re up with your friends. In short, we said it’d be awesome.

And all of us here have been hard at work to keep that promise. We’re rolling out new features every week, improving our place database, making SCVNGR better, faster and more fun for everyone. We’re going to expand to new platforms and new countries soon so that everyone everywhere can play SCVNGR at their favorite places with their favorite people.

And today, we’re announcing an exciting milestone! We’re about to hit 500,000 users! Just 20 weeks after launch. WOOT!

And we couldn’t have done this without your support, your inviting friends to check us out, your telling businesses to jump on board. And so (and we really mean it when we say this) thank you! We’re going to keep working as hard as we possibly can to make SCVNGR your location-based app of choice. Even if it means that we might go a little crazy in the process.

But, in the mean-time (i.e. while we’re waiting for Apple to approve our latest release, which you’re going to love!) we figured a celebration was in order.

So, user number 500,000 (we’re not there just yet), wherever you are, when you start playing SCVNGR, you will receive a limited edition SCVNGRPad! (The edition is 1 so we don’t get sued.)
