On Saturday, March 12, our Chief Ninja, Seth Priebatsch, delivered the keynote presentation at the opening session of South by Southwest Interactive.

Seth’s presentation on The Game Layer started the major festival off with a bang. While Seth maintained his usual “superhuman energy” during the talk, he asked the audience to get involved as well. The crowd played 2 communal games designed to demonstrate the power of game mechanics in the real world.

Also, Seth dissected the game mechanics that structure institutions like school and power companies like Groupon, offering insight on the central role that these mechanics will play in the Decade of Games.
